Rene was born in Manila and raised in Negros Occidental in the Philippines. After completing a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, he worked as a Metallurgist and later as a Research Specialist in cold rolled steel production. After migrating to Australia, he served as a Quality Assurance Manager in the furniture manufacturing industry.

Rene came to saving faith in Jesus Christ in 1981 after hearing the gospel at work, and his assurance grew as he deepened his understanding of God’s Word. He now serves as Associate Pastor and Elder of GraceWest Bible Church. Rene is married to Suzette, and their daughter, Kezah, serves alongside them. His desire is to see the church grounded in Scripture, finding refuge in God and glorifying Him through faithful worship, teaching, prayer, and gospel proclamation.
