Children & Youth

In 2021, we at GraceWest would love to be able to teach Sunday school, but due to COVID restrictions we will not be able to do that, at least for the foreseeable future. Instead, we plan to include a 10-minute class in the church service. Each person will receive a sheet on which we will construct a Bible Timeline. Later in the service the children will receive a colouring-in sheet based on that week’s Bible lesson, which they can colour during the sermon. There will also be memory verses. We will revisit the possibility of running Sunday school as the year progresses.

At GraceWest Bible Church we have a youth ministry which we call Dig Deeper Youth. We meet every Friday 7:30pm to 9:30pm with the ultimate goal for our youth to grasp the principles of God’s word and apply it daily.

2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV), And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Mature in Christ by learning to stand on their own by digging God’s word and interpreting it correctly.

Our setup varies from Junior/Senior Girls, Junior/Senior Boys; mixing both girls and boys (from Year 7-12) in some sessions with Icebreaker, Prayer or Music as joint kick off sessions.

We do a Book of the Bible and Bible study series lesson cycle, to expose them more on the Gospel (Christian Doctrine) and teaching them life application (Christian Practice) with guidance from the scripture.

We plan to have different formats each year, examples are:

  • Parents’ involvement by hosting youth session one Friday
  • Regular joint sessions with Young Adults
  • Various offsite activities

To ensure interaction is happening between leaders, parents, young adults and fellow members of Dig Deeper Youth, to help break down barriers and develop close knit relationships.

  • Book: Real Change for Students by Andrew Nicholls and The Sermon on the Mount – Bible Study Book by Jen Wilkin
  • Time and Day: 7:30pm – 9:00pm, every Friday
